Jesus Passes the Baton
Monday ~ April 25
Read:
John 20:19-23, Luke 24:13-17
Jesus passes the baton!
Jesus appears to His followers as if out of nowhere. He always knows right where we are, how to get to us and what we need. He is always right on time.
He comes with a message of “Peace” and His Spirit reminds us of when he spoke “peace I give you, not as the world gives…”
He reminds us of what He has done for us and what he is calling us to do.
When we chose to walk this road it was not for our own personal spiritual life and not so that our lives would bear the fruit of sacrifice. We do not walk this road for those we serve nor for those who we love. But we walk this road to testify to the greatness of Jesus, the Son of the living God in whose kingdom we find our home. It is with all honesty and gladness that we can proclaim…
"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!"
"Hosanna in the highest!"
We may not know where this road may lead, but lead where it may, He will never leave us, or forget us. He will always be with us for He is in us. This road will lead us to the kingdom of our Father, but along the way, it will intersect with many others who like us before, he wants to invite to walk this journey with us. May He use us to draw many others to join Him on this road – the road to life, the road of Christ.
“Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. 53 And they stayed continually at the temple, praising God.” Luke 24:52-53
Prayer:
Father,
May I continually praise you, and Jesus your Son, who has shown me the way of life. Thank you that you never leave me and your peace sustains me. May you use my life to dray many more to walk this road of Christ, to discover life and the hope that is found in your kingdom. Amen
Action:
Make a list of 3-5 people who Jesus may be intersecting your life with and who do not yet walk this road of Christ with you. Write each name down and pray that Jesus would show you how you can invite them to experience walking this road with Christ. Write down whatever ideas come to your mind next to each name and as God enables you bring those ideas to fruition. Pray for each person on your list by name each day of this week.
Meditate:
Matt 28:18-20
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
“ask where the good way is,
and walk in it,”
Jer 6:16
