Jesus is Alive!

Sunday ~ April 24

Read:
Luke 24:1-8

Jesus is alive!
The road of Christ leads to an empty tomb. Though humanity can kill him, death cannot hold him. “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!” Some things just do not make sense, like looking for the living among the dead.
Empty Garden Tomb

Jesus has drawn us to walk this road, to walk in his way. A journey to His Father‟s kingdom, and on this road Jesus defeats death not for himself but for us all.

“The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.” (Rom 6:10-11)

This road of Christ has lead us to life, where we are alive to God in Christ Jesus. As we walk this road we get glimpses of the kingdom ahead of us and our steps lighten. The dark and lonely days are behind us. Though the ambush of our enemies is still a present threat, they cannot deter us. The kingdom is ahead of us, the sacred city that Christ has been leading us to is real and just ahead of us now.

Prayer:

Father,
Thank you for loving me and giving me this amazing experience of walking this road of Christ. Thank you for bringing Jesus to life, and that now His life can live in me.
May Jesus be praised by my life, He alone is worthy of all my praise.
May your Spirit always remind me of His words and ways, and may I always long to faithfully trust and obey Him. Give me a heart that is willing to sacrifice for the sake of your kingdom in the life of others. May my life be permeated with the atmosphere of service so others might see your kingdom. May the life that Christ lives in me be lived for you and for your glory. Amen

Action:
Take a walk in your neighbourhood today and consider how God has placed you there to bring the life of Christ to those who live around you. As you pass each house declare “He has risen” before it and ask God to make that truth known to those who live there.

Meditate:
Ephesians 2:4-5
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions-it is by grace you have been saved.

“ask where the good way is,
and walk in it,

Jer 6:16
