Miracles are Normal
Based on feeding the five thousand – Mark 6:30-44
Miracles happen in the midst of the normal.
It was normal for Jesus to feed the many.
It was normal for people to get hungry.
It was normal to take bread and fish – that which was on hand.
It was normal to sit down and give thanks, to send it out, to eat.
All this was normal.
The disproportionate resources were abnormal -
five loaves, 5000 men.
The abnormal requires faith to do the normal.
Jesus does what is normal with faith
which is also normal.
Faith supports the normal.
Skepticism reduces the normal to subnormal.
Skepticism sucks life from the normal
Skepticism tries to be normal, but can't.
Life without faith is subnormal.
Faith will bring life back to normal
Without faith life can not be normal.
There is confidence when things are normal
By faith miracles overcome the abnormal.
It is normal to have faith.
With faith there is confidence.
When things are abnormal there is little confidence.
Lack of confidence feeds skepticism
Skepticism perpetuates the abnormal
both need the other to survive.
Faith absolves the abnormal
With God all things are possible
With God all things are normal
Life without God is abnormal.
