Color

written in a coffee shop on 4th

See a city splashed with color;
Soaking homes, gardens, hills, all other;
A place where rainbows unfurl their hues,
and stretch their bands across dripping dews.

Skies dripping, like tears, from overlooking eyes
Seeing beauty, made, but seeing it not
Looking where it should be, but finding it not
But could be,
Should be,,
…will be.

When those tears, dripping down
Turn to drops, dripping down
Red from hands, dripping down
Out of love, dripping down

Softening hearts full of pain
To bring real beauty back again
Now the color, stained, not splashed
Restores the hearts joyful laugh

Then a rainbow marks the promise,
Springing life, shy of pride.
The heart once made, has made a turn
The colors of beauty now restored
Like it could be,
Where it should be,,
…Will be
